  1. This is the oldest and largest British Columbia Wine Competition.

  2. Open to all licensed British Columbia wineries and recognizes a wide variety of wine styles.

  3. TEN professionally recognized judges.

  4. The judging process is first class ensuring competitive integrity, with full blind judging and proper time allotted for discussion and consensus.

  5. Following the awards ceremony, results are immediately posted on www.thewinefestivals.com, and distributed through various media channels to our extensive consumer, trade and media database.

  6. Results will be published digitally across key wine platforms including wine and food media and select newspapers.

  7. A full-colour gloss British Columbia Wine Awards guide distributed to over 60,000 wine drinkers and buyers, announcing the 2017 British Columbia Wine Awards, complete with bottle shots and listing the medal winners.

  8. All VQA Wine Stores and over 600 LRS locations will receive the results.

  9. Locally designed medals that will be awarded to each winner to be used by winners for display at their winery.

  10. British Columbia Wine Awards medal designs will be made available electronically to all winners.

  11. The Platinum Award winners winemakers will be featured in an editorial in Boulevard Okanagan magazine and Boulevard Vancouver Magazine.

FEES AND ENTRY DEADLINES Important dates

  1. The British Columbia Wine Awards for 2017 will be held from September 154th - 17th at the Penticton Trade and Convention Center before the start of the Fall Okanagan Wine Festival.

  2. Four (4) bottles plus an entry fee of $94.00 + GST per wine entered must accompany each wine entered if you are a winery that is a member of the Okanagan Wine Festivals Society.  If you are a non-member winery, the entry fee per bottle is only $109.00 + GST.  No entries will be allowed without full payment. No cheques accepted.

  3. All Entry forms and payments are to be completed ONLINE at www.thewinefestivals.com.

  4. The deadline for entries is FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 1st, 2017

LOCATION AND DEADLINE FOR WINE DELIVERYWhere to send your wines

  1. INTERIOR OF BRITISH COLUMBIA WINERIES

  • Four (4) bottles of each wine entered must be delivered to ContainerWorld's Kelowna warehouse 333 Penno Road, Kelowna, BC, V1X YW5 by the entry deadline of Friday September 1, 2017. All deliveries need to be made at the REAR of the building. DO NOT SHIP VIA CANADA POST PLEASE. Once entered, please contact ContainerWorld at 250-491-9316 to confirm your wine delivery date.

  1.  VANCOUVER ISLAND WINERIES

  • Four (4) bottles of each wine entered must be delivered to ContainerWorld's Vancouver Island agent Pac Rim Distribution Victoria warehouse 1031 Dunford Ave, Victoria, BC V9B 2S4 by Friday September 1st, 2017.

  1. VANCOUVER LOWER MAINLAND WINERIES

  • Four (4) bottles of each wine entered must be delivered to ContainerWorld's Richmond warehouse Main Reception -16133 Blundell Road, Richmond, BC, V6W 0A3 by Friday September 1st, 2017. 

  • When you drop off your wines, please print and bring your confirmation letter of
    registration so that ContainerWorld can properly identify your wines.

  • Every entry must be boxed and labeled on at least two sides "British Columbia Wine Awards".

  • Please note that if you will be unable to deliver the wine before September 1, 2017, you MUST contact Marjorie King at marjorie@thewinefestivals.com before September 1st.
